Engineered Wood Flooring Manufacturer Exceeds Trial Objectives with Soyad® Adhesive System

A leading North American manufacturer of engineered wood flooring products trialed a Soyad® adhesive as a possible replacement for its urea formaldehyde-based adhesive system.  In addition to significantly reducing formaldehyde emissions, which was the manufacturer’s primary objective, the Soyad® adhesive proved to be cost competitive to the existing system as well as several previously trialed low-emitting systems.  Having exceeded the trial objectives, the manufacturer recently announced that it will convert to Soyad® adhesives.

ReNew® CG8203 Organic Acid Cleaner Proves Safe and Effective Alternative to Hydrochloric Acid

A chemical manufacturer in Asia was experiencing significant calcium carbonate scale accumulation throughout its processing equipment.  Removing the scale with high pressure water was not feasible due to confined space and the use of hydrochloric acid posed safety risks to employees and could potentially harm the equipment.  As an alternative to hydrochloric acid, Hercules recommended the use of ReNew® CG8203 organic acid cleaner, a urea-acid salt that performs similarly to hydrochloric acid but is significantly less corrosive.  By adding a dilute mixture of CG8203 into the system, the scale was completely removed without damaging the equipment and without exposing employees to corrosive acid.
